Two opposing viewpoints can peacefully coexist, understanding that each is valid and each has something of a blueprint for the other's growth.

COUPLES THERAPY

You cannot change your partner and your partner cannot change you. However, each of you may often attempt to influence each other with the belief that your partner is 'doing' something to you and therefore needs to change. I can help you reclaim your curiosity and compassion for one another.

With a stronger sense of Self, I can help you accept your need to change responses to problems and hold curiosity as to why you think, feel or behave the way you do. In doing so, I can lead you on a journey to become a more effective partner and help you find powerful ways to change your relationship with your Self and your partner.

If you are struggling with the loss of intimacy and connection and are ready to learn how to relate more honestly with your Self and your partner, I can take you on a wonderful journey of Self discovery and renewed passion.

Many couples try to find solutions to their ongoing disagreements. But long after those solutions no longer work, they continue to apply them, hoping for change. With curiosity, patience and empathy, I can help you rediscover your creativity and lead you on the journey to mutual understanding and harmony.

Every day I help couples survive the inevitable trials of married life and emerge, loving each other with a deeper sense of reconnection. I can help you remember just how good it is to love again.

Your relationship is suffering and you don't know what else to do about it… and you've found this new friend who listens to you in ways your partner doesn't anymore…

Are you making a unilateral decision about your relationship, by having an affair or deciding to leave? I can help you and your partner make a mutual decision whether to stay or go.

Intense conflict in relationships is another way that two hurting people are trying to connect. Would you like help developing the courage to find the lost parts of your Self so that you can re-engage with your partner? I can help you lessen that conflict and discover the softer, warmer side of your married life.

I believe strongly that couples can experience a safe and peaceful environment in therapy with the ultimate goal of a safe, passionate relationship. I can help you heal the pain of the ongoing power struggle that drives couples apart.

I do this by first looking at your strengths. Next, I look at what you'd like to have in your relationship: More love and intimacy? More freedom? More time together? Less conflict? Then I look at how you can use your core strengths to create the relationship you want. And throughout the process, I teach you to see the good intentions of the loved one in your life, in a way that can allow you both to feel happier and more connected.

Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong things at the tempting moment.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Trauma, whether psychological or physical, can be experienced as a physical shock to the body. Just as your body has the capacity to repair and heal itself, so the mind, or psyche, is capable of regeneration and healing, when given the opportunity to do so. Only when you feel safe and supported can life's upsetting events gradually become distant memories. No matter how long the journey, I can help you reconnect with your essential, joyful Self.

These can be some of the symptoms of a past or present trauma and can invite destructive and repetitive patterns into your life. For some people, trauma-related fear and distress can be so severe that it interferes with social functioning, intimate relationships and holding a job. Some trauma symptoms are dramatic; others are less obvious, but still interfere with happiness, productivity and connection with others. With time and patience I will help you work towards a sense of command and spontaneity in your life. You can learn new ways of seeing yourself in the world.

Sometimes it's important to go back to the basics in life. I can help you lessen the feelings of depression and anxiety in simple and achievable steps. Many people overlook the importance of good nutrition and exercise, They may even have difficulty talking with their physician about what's happening with them so that another level of help can be found. With new problem-solving skills the world becomes more manageable.

We have many parts of ourselves that help us get up in the morning, go to work and take care of loved ones, to name a few. What happens when some feelings become extreme and we find ourselves behaving in ways we never meant to behave? Have you ever had the sense that you were losing control over what you were saying and doing? Have you ever wondered why an angry part of yourself has taken hold of your life and you've lost contact with your happy, contented Self?

I can help you reconnect with your lost Self and negotiate with the parts of you that feel extreme. Working together, I can help you feel more cohesive, calm, curious, confident, connected, and creative plus experience more compassion and clarity in your life.

Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure, nor this thing nor that, but simply growth. We are happy when we are growing.
